The late romantic style work was created for the composition competition of the Forchhammer-Stiftung (2022), where it won the 3rd place. The six-minute build-up to the grand finale is a real challenge for every wind band and demands solo play from all musicians, but low technical requirements (Grade 4-5).
Sky’s The Limit was commissioned by the Kreisjugendblasorchster Esslingen on the occasion of our first concert since the beginning of the pandemic. The 2nd orchestral sonata was written in 2020 and was recorded as part of the Orchester*stücke project. In the same year I was able to win a final place in the National Band Association / William D. Revelli Memorial Band Composition Contest with the work. In 2022 the piece took first place in the composition competition of the World Association for Bands and Ensembles in Prague, where it was premiered.
